The terms we work on.
Placement is free, the contract you sign is with the datacenter or carrier, and consulting is billed by the hour on our own invoice. The details are below.
Who we are
Schokker IT B.V., trading as colocation.amsterdam. KvK 73247375, BTW NL859419812B01, Kattensingel 62b, 2801 CC Gouda, the Netherlands. Mail sales@colocation.amsterdam for anything on this page.
In these terms, we and us mean Schokker IT B.V. You means the company or organisation that uses this site or asks us for help.
What these terms cover
This site, our placement service and any consulting we do for you. We work for companies and organisations, not for consumers.
If a written quote or agreement for a specific job says something different, the quote or agreement applies. Your own purchasing terms do not apply unless we accept them in writing.
The placement service
You send us your requirements. We check them, shortlist halls, ask operators for quotes, negotiate the terms on your behalf and introduce you to the datacenter you choose. For connectivity we do the same with carriers and transit.
Placement costs you nothing. You are not obliged to sign with any operator we propose, and we pass your requirements to an operator only after telling you which one, as the privacy policy describes.
How we are paid
If you sign with a datacenter through us, the datacenter pays us a fee. The carrier pays us a fee, as the datacenter does. Neither fee is on your invoice, and we add no margin to the price you pay the operator.
Your contract is with the operator
You sign directly with the datacenter or carrier, on its terms. It invoices you, it gives the SLA and it is responsible for delivering the space, power and connectivity it sold you. We are not a party to that contract.
We do not guarantee an operator’s delivery dates, availability, uptime or prices, and claims under that contract go to the operator. We stay on as technical contact and help you chase the operator when something goes wrong, but that help does not make us responsible for what the operator does.
Consulting
Network architecture, project planning, maintenance and other technical advice outside a placement are billed by the hour on our own invoice. Before we start, we agree the scope and the hourly rate with you in writing; an email counts. We do not rack or cable hardware.
We invoice the hours worked. Invoices are due within 30 days of the invoice date unless the quote says otherwise. On late payment the Dutch statutory commercial interest applies.
Prices and figures on this site
Prices, power figures, latencies and capacity on this site are indications, based on public sources, quotes we have seen and our own measurements at the time of writing. They change and they are not an offer. A price binds only once it is in a written quote from the operator or, for consulting, from us.
Advice and your decisions
We give our advice with care, based on what you tell us and what operators tell us. You decide which hall, which contract and which term you sign. We read contracts with you, but our comments are technical and commercial, not legal advice.
Confidentiality
We treat your requirements, your network design and the quotes you receive as confidential, and share them only with the operators and carriers you agree to. The privacy policy covers what we do with personal data.
Liability
We are liable only for direct damage, up to the amount we invoiced you for the work in question in the twelve months before the damage occurred. Placement is free, so for placement that amount is zero.
We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost revenue, lost data or downtime, or for what an operator, carrier or other third party does or fails to do.
These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness.
Using this site
Text, maps and diagrams on this site are ours. You may quote them with a link back to the page, but do not republish whole pages. Photos, logos and map data that belong to others are listed on the credits page, under their own licences.
Changes to these terms
We can change these terms; the date at the bottom of this page shows the current version. If we are doing consulting work for you, we email you the changes at least 30 days before they apply to that work.
Law and disputes
Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the Rechtbank Den Haag, the court for Gouda, unless the law requires another court. If the English and Dutch versions of these terms differ, the Dutch version applies.
Before it gets that far, mail sales@colocation.amsterdam and we will work it out with you.
