What we do with your data.
Short, because there is not much to say. We run three forms and an inbox. There is no analytics, there are no tracking cookies and there is nothing to opt out of.
Who is responsible
Schokker IT B.V., trading as colocation.amsterdam. KvK 73247375, BTW NL859419812B01, Kattensingel 62b, 2801 CC Gouda, the Netherlands. Mail sales@colocation.amsterdam for anything on this page.
What we collect
Four things, all because you sent them to us:
- The requirements form: company, contact name, email, phone if you give one, whether you want a call or an email back, and the technical details you fill in: space, racks, power, redundancy, connectivity, remote hands, timeline, whether it is a migration, and your notes.
- The call request form: name, company, phone, email, whether you want a call or an email back, when to call and what you want to talk about.
- The contact form: name, company, email, phone if you give one, whether you want a call or an email back, and your message.
- Email and phone: whatever is in the message or the call.
What we do with it
We read it, we sanity-check the specs, and we reply. If you want an introduction to a datacenter, we pass the requirements brief needed to quote you (company, contact details and the technical specs) to that operator, and we tell you which one before we do. Apart from the providers that host this site and our mailbox for us, and Cloudflare, which runs the network in front of the site and the spam check on the forms, nothing goes anywhere else. We do not sell data and we do not build advertising profiles.
Legal basis
We handle what you send us, and the server logs, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering your request, arranging the introduction you ask for and keeping the site secure (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). Records we have to keep for tax purposes rest on a legal obligation (article 6(1)(c)).
What we do not do
No analytics, no tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no newsletter. The site sets no cookies at all, which is why there is no cookie banner. Fonts and images are served from this domain. The one outside request is the Cloudflare spam check on the forms, described below.
Spam protection on the forms
All three forms (requirements, call request and contact) use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out. When you open one of them, your browser loads a script from Cloudflare and runs a check you do not see. That check sends Cloudflare your IP address, your browser’s user agent, a TLS fingerprint and the site the check is for. Cloudflare uses these signals to tell people from bots on our behalf, and as a controller in its own right to improve its bot detection. Cloudflare says it cannot identify you from these signals.
We use Turnstile on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the forms free of spam (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). Questions about Cloudflare’s part go to dpo@cloudflare.com. Cloudflare sets out how it handles the data here:
Hosting and logs
The site runs on servers in the EU. Pages reach you through Cloudflare’s network, which protects the site against attacks and caches it. Cloudflare sees your IP address and the pages you request, and processes them for us under a data processing agreement. Cloudflare, a US company, and our mail provider may store or process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, the transfer relies on the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as an adequacy decision (for the US, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses (GDPR chapter V). Standard server logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp) are kept for one month for security and troubleshooting and are not linked to anything you send us.
How long we keep it
Requirements and correspondence: two years after our last contact, so we can pick up where we left off. Placements that turned into a contract: seven years, because Dutch tax law says so. Ask us to delete earlier and we will, unless that seven-year rule applies.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, delete it or limit how we use it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a machine-readable file (GDPR articles 15 to 21). Mail sales@colocation.amsterdam and you get an answer within one business day. If you think we handled it badly, you can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
